There is so much hikma (wisdom) in the shifa (healing) and curing by honey.
Whether it be in its pure form on a spoon, mixed with a warm or hot beverage, applied to the skin as an antiseptic or enjoyed directly in the form of bee pollen.
Honey is, in its essence, always a hit!
As we see the might of Allah subhana wa t’ala in nature we see the nahl (bees) buzzing around busily during the spring and summer seasons which we know give rise to hay fever. Eating the locally produced honey to one's surrounding area can help prevent or lower the chances of getting hay fever. By consuming the local honey, the pollen which the nahl has been busy collecting is consumed, thus helping to build an immunity and lowering chances of reacting to it. Subhana Allah.
During the colder months, the anti bacterial & decongestant properties of honey help us to fight off unwanted colds and flu while giving our immune system a natural and much needed boost.
Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him):
"The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Healing is in three things: cupping, a gulp of honey or cauterization, (branding with fire) but I forbid my followers to use cauterization.”Sahih al-Bukhari Summarized Book of Medicine #69, chapter 1, Hadith no. 1963 [7:585-O.B]
"Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you]." There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought" [Qur'an Surat al-Nahl Ayat 69]
